PASL Women's League launching this winter in partnership with American Soccer 5-6-7
Chico, CA - The Premier Arena Soccer League (PASL) and the American Soccer567 Association (American Soccer 5-6-7) announced a joint player development agreement that will fuel the establishment of a new women's national program. The PASL's Women's League will begin play this winter, providing a platform for women to compete at the highest levels of arena soccer.
American Soccer 5-6-7 is the American federation of the Pan-American MiniFootball Federation (PAMF), the region's confederation under the World MiniFootball Federation (WMF).
The PASL is a member of American Soccer 5-6-7, which oversees 5, 6 and 7-a-side soccer, including arena soccer.
"The women's game has grown substantially in the last few years, and it's finally time to add a high level women's arena soccer league to the United States soccer landscape," states PASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken.
"We have experienced a great deal of success with the men's USNAST, and we have wanted to do a women's team for a while, but we needed a league to draw players from. The PASL's announcement of a women's league gives us that feeder league we needed, and so we decided to announce the foundation of a national team program in conjunction with their league announcement." states USNAST General Manager Bernie Lilavois. The women's USNAST expects to announce its first player combine this week, which will be held in mid-August.
The PASL is also rolling out a new structured league fee system, for the men's league as well as the new women's league, which will reward teams that are organized and register early. Teams registering before July 31st will only pay $400.00 for the team registration. Teams that register between August 1st to 15th will pay $550.00, and the last registration period is August 16th to September 15th in which team will pay $750.00. The adult player registration fees have been lowered to $29.95 from last season's $50.00, which overall will lower team and player expenses, especially for teams that register early. Registration is now open for the men and women on the PASL's website at www.arenaleague.com.
